Update for Out of Province Deals
In light of some changes to various out of province regulations, please see below updates re. the current status for various provinces - what you can and cannot do:
(Note, information is current as of August 2026, please make sure you’re checking with compliance for the most current information at the time that you have a deal come up)
British Columbia: Can co-broker deals with or refer deals to an individual licensed in the province. Proceed with caution, BCFSA is making significant changes to licensing and compliance rules - make sure you’re working with someone up on evolving regulations. DLC Access Desk will take these files.
Alberta: Can co-broker deals with or refer deals to an individual licensed in the province. DLC Access Desk will take these files.
Saskatchewan: Can co-broker deals with or refer deals to an individual licensed in the province. DLC Access Desk will take these files.
Manitoba: Can co-broker deals with or refer deals to an individual licensed in the province. DLC Access Desk will take these files.
Quebec: Can co-broker deals with or refer deals to an individual licensed in the province. DLC Access Desk will take these files.
Newfoundland/Labrador: Can co-broker deals with or refer deals to an individual licensed in the province. DLC Access Desk will take these files.
New Brunswick: Can not co-broker deals, only provide simple referrals to individuals licensed in the province. FC is currently licensed in New Brunswick - reach out to the compliance team for an internal referral source. DLC Access Desk will not take these files.
Nova Scotia: Can not co-broker deals, only provide simple referrals to individuals licensed in the province. DLC Access Desk will not take these files.
Prince Edward Island: Currently no licensing standard for mortgage brokers/brokerages. As such, deals can be completed by FC Funding agents.
Territories (Yukon, NWT, Nunavut): Currently no licensing standard for mortgage brokers/brokerages. As such, deals can be completed by FC Funding agents.
